They changed the truth of God into a lie.

I was led to read in Romans 8 the other day, I was so blessed and God really spake to my heart exactly what I needed to hear, to give me the encouragement to face a difficult situation, that I know I can only do with Him!  So as I finished praising Him and thanking Him for being so present in my life and speaking His truth to me in my need, I was just looking back over ever beautiful word...so I went back to the beginning of the chapter and as I often do when a chapter of the Bible starts with a "therefore"  I figure I better see what it is actually there for....(and the church goers all chuckle, because our Pastors say that all the time) So....well I decided to start with the first chapter, Romans 1. I then continued to read through to the end of Romans 7 and back to Romans 8.  I am confident that God is truth, I am confident that God is love, I know that He created us for His pleasure, and for that I am eternally grateful to Him, who is perfect and holy and mindful of me this wretched sinner  Because of what I owe him but can never repay, I will always side with God.  Because He is right and unless I am lined up with Him through his word, I am wrong.  So if He says it that settles it.  How do I know what God says?  He gives us His word, which I believe every word of it is true and directly from Him.
So that brings me to this...

For several years now I have observed the way Satan has been working in this world as he infiltrates the family in his campaign to change our minds about what is and is not sin in the battleground called homosexuality.  I have came to a conclusion about the strategy that God's enemy has.  I do not claim to be the all enlightened one, and I do realize I am not the first to see anything...but let me talk about this, and maybe it will shed some light  for someone.  I believe that one of Satan's strategies is this:  If he can infiltrate every family with one person that is a homosexual he will be able to change the tide in our culture. I guess he figures that we humans are so self-centered that if we have one person that we care about losing, we will have to change our mind about this sin. That people will instead of standing up to the friend or family member and telling them that they side with God , they instead chose to side with the loved one that has decided to go against God our Creator, His design for marriage, the family, society, and sexuality. I have seen it again and again...people side with their friend or family member against God.  And it never stops there. Sure, "good Christian people say we must love the sinner hate the sin....as to which I agree.  So what does that look like?   I think for most that have tried to stay involved in the homosexuals life, even if they say they do not approve, or condone...eventually they are less likely to see homosexuality as the egregious sin they once knew it to be before it hit so close to home.  I have heard a friend who was once appalled by the thought that an entertainer they liked being rumored as gay, because that was so heinous, later tell me they wouldn't consider Christianity because they have a gay friend. Recently, a conservative Ohio senator changed his mind about same sex marriage 2 years after his son told him he was gay.  Christians even who have lived in a manner that reflects true belief in the teachings of the Bible, have always believed that Homosexuality is sin and spoken out on it, change their mind when their son or daughter come out of the closet.   What changed their minds? Did God's word change what it said, no...the only thing that changed is their proximity to the sin.  They did not want to make a sacrifice, so instead they made a compromise.  But Jesus is the same yesterday today forever, God does not change (Malachi 3:6). So if God does not change his mind about homosexuality, then why would we?

I think it is explained in Romans 1:25 "...Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator..."

You might say..."Easy for you to say...you have never loved a homosexual, just wait till someone you care about tells you they are gay."

I do not speak without experience...My family is not untouched by this attack...we too have a loved one that has came "out of the closet".
The difference for us is this...

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."  Joshua 24:15

My husband and I have decided to and are resolved that our relationship to our God come before every other relationship, including the relationship with our loved one, because we choose to serve the Lord.  God is first in our lives, and we want to keep our hearts in tune with his. It is not that we think we are better than prostitutes, gays, pedophiles, rapists, and the rest.... No, we are sinners, saved by GRACE!  But we chose Christ.

It is that like I stated before, I believe that there is a strategy, and it is our job to guard our hearts and our minds against the enemies attack to change the way we think about sin.   So we have to make a stand. And we do chose to stand with Christ.

Our children know that, not because we say it...but because they have seen us live it, even at great cost to us personally. I pray that they will follow our example in this, and that when it is personally painful to follow God they will still chose right over evil.

Jesus, though He came to rescue sinners,(rescue them from-not for their sin) so he reached out to them and He loves everyone, He does not wink at their sin, when he said to the men about to stone the woman caught in the act of adultery, " he who is without sin throw the first stone", he did not ask the men to tolerate her sin, and accept adultery...he said the the adulteress "go and sin no more". That same Jesus is the God who created the universe and everything in it...He is the same Jesus who in John 1:1 is called the Word.  He is the same Jesus who is the author of the Word of God that says this....In Romans chapter 1:24-32...

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

So whose side are you on? As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

  1. Vice is a monster of so frightful mien,
That to be hated, has but to be seen,
Yet seen too oft, become familiar with it's face--
We first pity, then endure, then embrace.

Amen, Kelly. You are right and I am grateful to have read it because it was in the back of my mind, but now that you have clearly pointed it out, I have eyes to see that I have witnessed this "slow acceptance of the sin" over and over. Thanks.

About Me

My photo
I am so thankful to the the Lord Jesus Christ for saving me and surprised more and more every day that He would want to use this broken leaky vessel to do anything! But oh so grateful and humbled that He does! Thank you Jesus! My family and I have relocated from DFW, Texas to start a church in Port Clinton, Ohio. I will miss Texas and all of the wonderful people that God has allowed me to meet and get to know there, but I am so excited to see what God is going to do through our family and Lake Point Baptist Church in Port Clinton, Ohio! My prayer is for you to come into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ! Thank you for visiting my site! Please let me know you were here.

Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

• I believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and inerrant Word of God
(II Timothy 3:15-17, II Peter 1:21).

• I believe there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30).

• I believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:34-35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25, I Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); His personal return to earth in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11-16).

• I believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of the human nature, and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ, and that only by God's grace through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16-19; 5:24, Romans 3:23; 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Titus 3:5).

• I believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are not unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

• I believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:9, I Corinthians 12:12-13, Galatians 3:26-28).

• I believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14, I Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20, Ephesians 4:30; 5:18).

• I believe it is the mandate of the whole Church to go into the whole world and to preach the Gospel to every living creature. (Mark 16:15, Matthew 28:19-20)
